Always Love Gardens sells organic, sustainably grown produce at both Haywood County farmers markets and the Smoky Mountain Harvest Hub. Over the past four years, Tim has learned that transplanting rather than direct seeding consistently reduces defects, increases yields, and effectively controls weeds. The time inefficiencies and sub-optimal plant starts produced in his current setup have constrained his ability to scale up.
Tim plans to use his grant to install a propagation house with two separate sections for starting cool-season and warm-season crops. The new propagation house will support continued growth, with anticipated 2026 income increases of at least $20,000.
