Holly Strawn, Harpp Flower Farm

Floral Cooler
Grant Award: $8,000

With the goal of transitioning to full-time farming by 2025, Holly is diversifying and expanding her specialty cut flower operation. Key to this expansion is the addition of a dedicated floral cooler.

Holly will be converting an existing 141 square-foot room into a cold storage facility. Grant funds will pay for insulation, floor covering, electrical contractor, shelving, window air-conditioner, CoolBot® Pro, generator and oscillating fan. The dedicated cold storage facility is designed to store flowers efficiently, extending their shelf life and allowing her to grow more to meet demand.

Since 2022, sales have tripled and she currently has secured contracts for deliveries at three local restaurants and weekly deliveries to three florists. She is a preferred vendor for five event venues, four wedding coordinators, and has a sold-out CSA program.

The cooler is a strategic step towards breaking through the constraints of her current harvest limit and has the potential for expanded sales, improved product quality, and overall business growth.
