On Site Cold Storage Building

David plans to expand and improve the sustainability of his business by building an on-site carport with cold storage. Mushrooms are sensitive to bacterial blooms, so maintaining the correct temperature is imperative.
The new facility will save him the time and fuel money required to drive the 7 miles to his current cold-storage rental unit multiple times per day. It will also have space for a dehydration and packing station and can eventually accommodate sterilizers and a year-round fruiting room.
Sporadic Farms sells to a local food distributor serving over 400 customers, grocery stores (including Earth Fare and West Village Market) and several local restaurants. David hopes to double production and expand his range of products in 2021.
