Danielle Crocker & Jason Willis,
“Pick Dee’s Berries” at Skydance Farm
Roadside Market Farm Store
Grant Award: $6,000
Danielle and Jason are building a 20-foot by 24-foot wooden structure with a metal roof that will serve as roadside farm store for selling fresh berries, honey, produce and value-added products from their farm as well as others in the surrounding community.
The building will also provide space to store, handle and package produce and host events, such as workshops, parties and agritourism experiences. They have already completed road access, a 30-car gravel parking lot and a 3,000-gallon septic system with help from WNC AgOptions.
A stand-alone restroom facility, well and electricity infrastructure are also in place. Footers and a block foundation have been installed and permits are secured for construction. Danielle and Jason plan to apply for an interstate attraction sign and will advertise the store through a variety of outlets to help draw visitors.
