Nursery Expansion

Saturnia Farm, a specialty perennial and native plant nursery, made needed renovations on the farm to expand nursery offerings. They made improvements to an existing high tunnel, with the goal of maximizing propagation, production, and season extension. They also created a workable nursery space in the field adjacent to the tunnel, and created infrastructure for room to grow.
To accomplish this, the grant paid for tree removal, the creation of a raised pull-in and parking pad for 
accessible parking, deliveries and level working area and the addition of an automated overhead irrigation system to the high tunnel. Sarah and Ben also operate a garden design, install and maintenance business and have a solid base of customers to draw on for the nursery.
The improvements to the business will allow them to expand their nursery offerings, improve the customer experience and offer classes and workshops to educate the public about native landscaping, which will promote the business.
