McCall Farm has purchased and installed a point of sales (POS) system for their farm store. This fully integrated system includes produce scales, a cash register, a credit card processor with chip reader, touch screen check out, customer screen and a printer.
The system allows for the sale of gift cards and is able to keep a customer database to use for special promotions and customer loyalty rewards.
The system has improved efficiency and increased profitability by enabling the farm to track quantities of items sold, track sales numbers, speed up the check-out process and free up their phone line.
Since the 25-acre produce farm sells their entire product from their farm stand, the ability to track inventory, analyze sales and determine fair and profitable pricing has had immediate impacts on their bottom line.
