Grant Award: $6,000 — Value-Added Poultry Processing Equipment
The Nidiffers are building a permanent processing building to expand their poultry operation and double their production. With the addition, they will meet the state requirements for on-farm processing of less than 20,000 birds in one year.
With the new equipment, they can substantially decrease labor costs, opening up time for the Nidiffers to devote to other areas of the farm. Their diverse selection of poultry, including chickens, ducks, geese, turkey and quail, make their CSA and farmer’s market booth stand out to customers.
