Terry Rogers

Arrowood Tree Farm – Grant Award: $3,000

Terry has farmed corn and hay since 1949, and planted one acre of tobacco until 2002. With his award, he will remove pest-destroyed hemlocks from a 125-acre portion of his property, and replant with white pines on the south slopes and hardwoods on the north sides.

Pine bough clippings will provide an additional income for Terry in 6-8 years, and wood products could provide an income for his heirs in 25 years. He also aims to improve the health of his forest for environmental quality and recreation benefits.
