Wayne Uffleman

$2,500 — Chicken Farm
Because of this grant “I will be able to purchase a 25 ton grain bin that will help me expand my egg production.” ~ Wayne Uffleman

W. Uffelman is a full time farmer at Blue Hill Farm. His primary crop has been tobacco, but he has transitioned into vegetable and egg production. Wayne would like to continue to farm for a living and is looking to expand and diversify farm production. With the help of his extension agents Wayne is able to purchase a 25 ton grain bin to store feed for his chickens. He plans to sell 36,000 dozen eggs a year.

Expected income from egg production and sales $72,000.

Wayne Uffleman is working closely with his NC Cooperative Extension Agents, Ross Young, Elizabeth Tolley and David Kendall.
