$2,500 — Produce and Berry Farm
Because of this grant “We plan to reduce the costs of operation by utilizing products of vegetable waste, animal waste, and pest reduction by chickens.” ~ Joe and Lee Tuttle
Joe and Lee Tuttle purchased Queens Produce and Berry farm in 2003. The customer demand and inquiries from both the farm and the produce stand usually indicate which crops to expand. One such request for the Tuttle’s has been for farm fresh eggs. This grant would go towards building accommodations to raise chickens and to process chicken waste into usable soil additives.
Expected income over the next two years – $2,700.
