Charles Conley and Donald Woodby
$2,500 — Boxwoods & Holly Bushes
Because of this grant, “We were able to expand our nursery plant operation and not depend on tobacco for our income.” ~ Charles Conley and Donald Woodby
Charles and Donald are full time farmers who have grown tobacco for years. With the help of their local NC Cooperative Extension agents, Jean Harrison, Stanley Holloway, and Claude Deyton, they will be building a cold-frame greenhouse to root boxwoods, hollies, burning bush, and nandina bushes.
Expected income totals $5,000 over the next 2 years.
Charles Conley and Donald Woodby are working closely with their local extension agents Jean Harrison, Stanley Holloway, and Claude Deyton in Yancey County.
